Paper stocks & finishing options

The paper stock and finish you choose affects how your poster looks and how long it lasts. For large format posters (18" and larger), we print on premium satin paper — a semi-gloss finish that delivers excellent colour reproduction with minimal glare, making it the ideal all-round choice for event posters, retail displays, photography-heavy designs, and research presentations alike.

For smaller format posters (8.5" x 11" and 11" x 17"), additional paper stocks are available including matte and gloss options — ask when you request a quote.

Finishing options:

  • Gloss lamination — adds shine, protection from moisture and scuffs. Extends the life of posters displayed in public-facing or high-traffic areas.

  • Foam-core mounting — provides a smooth and elegant lightweight backing for freestanding or mounted display. Ideal for high resolution indoor displays. Standard 5mm or 10mm foam-core available.

  • Coroplast mounting — Durable and waterproof, best for outdoor signage and long term repeated use. Features a fluted texture.

Event poster printing — same-day available

Tight deadline on an event? We understand that event timelines don't always allow for a week's lead time. Our same-day poster printing service covers most standard sizes when files are submitted before noon. We regularly print event posters for:

  • Music venues, galleries, and performing arts events across Burnaby and Greater Vancouver

  • Community events at Deer Lake Park, Bonsor Recreation Centre, and Burnaby Village Museum

  • Festivals and markets in New Westminster, Coquitlam, and East Vancouver

  • Restaurant and retail promotions along Kingsway and Metrotown

  • Non-profit fundraisers and awareness campaigns

Research & academic poster printing — BCIT, SFU & UBC

We're a short distance from both BCIT's Burnaby campus and SFU's Burnaby Mountain campus, making us a go-to resource for students, researchers, and academics who need large format research posters printed for conferences, symposiums, and thesis presentations.

We print academic research posters on:

  • Premium matte paper — the standard for conference poster presentations, reduces glare under fluorescent lighting

  • Satin paper — vivid colour for data visualizations and infographic-heavy poster

Standard conference poster sizes (36" x 48", 48" x 36", 24" x 36") are in stock and available for same-day printing. Bring your PDF on a USB drive or submit online.

Looking for something larger? Banner & displays can pair well with your posters!

Posters are perfect for close-up display and indoor promotion — but if you need your message to carry across a room, a storefront, or an outdoor event space, a banner takes it further. A retractable pull-up banner stand is one of the most popular pairings with poster printing: your poster handles the detail at eye level while a 6-foot banner stand anchors your display from a distance and makes your presence impossible to miss. Many of our customers order both together for trade shows, open houses, and events — one cohesive look, produced in the same turnaround, picked up in a single trip.

We also produce vinyl banners, mesh banners, step-and-repeat backdrops, and event signage in any size. If you're building a complete display or promotional package, we can quote everything together.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most popular poster size?

24" x 36" is by far our most commonly ordered poster size — it's large enough to be seen from a distance but fits most standard display frames and foam-core boards. For event posters going up at eye level on bulletin boards or walls, 18" x 24" is also very popular.

Can I get same-day poster printing in Burnaby?

Yes, for most standard sizes. Submit your print-ready file before noon and we can typically have your poster ready for pickup the same afternoon. For large quantities or sizes over 36" x 48", call ahead to confirm. Rush jobs are our specialty — let us know your deadline.

What file format should I send for my poster?

Print-ready PDF is preferred, at the actual finished size with any bleed area included. For large format posters (24" x 36" and larger), ensure your file is set up at the full size at a minimum of 100 dpi, or at half-size at 150+ dpi. We also accept high-resolution JPG and PNG files. If you're unsure, send your file and we'll review it for free before printing.

Do you print research posters for BCIT and SFU students?

Yes — we regularly print conference and thesis posters for students from BCIT, SFU, and UBC. Standard conference sizes (36" x 48" landscape and portrait) are available with same-day turnaround when submitted before noon. Bring your PDF on a USB or submit via our online file portal.

What's the difference between laminated and unlaminated posters?

An unlaminated poster is the printed paper on its own — fine for short-term display or indoor use away from moisture and handling. A laminated poster has a protective film applied over the print surface, which adds rigidity, extends lifespan, protects against moisture and fingerprints, and enhances colour depth. We recommend lamination for any poster that will be handled, displayed outdoors, or reused across multiple events.

Can you mount my poster on foam-core?

Yes. Foam-core mounting creates a rigid, lightweight board that can be displayed freestanding on an easel or fixed to a wall without a frame. We offer 5mm and 10mm foam-core thickness. This is popular for trade show displays, real estate open houses, and academic conference presentations.
