Lamination Services in Burnaby & Greater Vancouver

Professional lamination at our Burnaby Metrotown print shop — protecting documents, posters, blueprints, menus, maps, and signage from moisture, wear, fingerprints, and damage. We laminate up to 36 inches wide, making us one of the only Burnaby print shops capable of laminating large format prints that go beyond standard office laminator width.

Same-day lamination on most standard orders. Call us to confirm at 604-431-9297

Why laminate? What lamination does

Lamination applies a thin protective film to the surface of a printed document. The result is a sealed, durable piece that resists:

  • Moisture and water damage — laminated documents won't absorb rain, spills, or humidity

  • Fingerprints and smudges — the film surface wipes clean easily

  • Tearing, creasing, and general handling wear

  • UV fading — laminated prints maintain colour intensity over time with reduced sun exposure

  • Dirt and contaminants — particularly valuable for documents used in industrial or construction environments

The result is a significantly longer lifespan for any printed material — which makes lamination cost-effective for anything that will be handled repeatedly, displayed publicly, or used outdoors.

Lamination Options

We offer two lamination methods at our Burnaby Metrotown print shop:

Gloss heat lamination — our standard lamination service. A clear gloss film is heat-sealed over the printed surface, adding a high-shine finish that intensifies colour, adds rigidity, and protects against moisture, fingerprints, scuffs, and general handling wear. Available for standard document sizes up to 36" wide. The most durable and long-lasting lamination option — ideal for menus, blueprints, posters, maps, training materials, and any document that will be handled repeatedly or displayed in public-facing areas.

One-sided cold lamination — a pressure-sensitive adhesive film applied without heat, to one side only. Cold lamination is the right choice for heat-sensitive prints, digitally printed materials where heat could cause warping or colour shift, and documents where a self-adhesive backing is needed. Produces a clear gloss finish similar in appearance to heat lamination.

If you're unsure which method suits your material, bring it in or describe it when you call — we'll advise on the best option in under a minute.

Large format lamination up to 36" wide

Most office laminators and retail copy shops are limited to 13" width — which means your oversized prints, architectural drawings, blueprints, and large posters either can't be laminated there or have to be done in strips with visible seam lines.

We laminate up to 36 inches wide in a single pass with no seams — preserving the full integrity of your large format print. This covers:

  • Blueprint and architectural drawing lamination — protect construction plans used on active job sites

  • Large format poster lamination — up to 36" wide at any length

  • Map and site plan lamination — durable field references for contractors, planners, and engineers

  • Trade show display graphics — extend the life of printed display panels

  • Training and safety signage — frequently-handled instructional documents for workplaces

Bring your own prints or print & laminate together

You can bring existing printed materials to us for lamination only — no minimum, no appointment needed during business hours. Or, combine printing and lamination in a single order for the most convenient turnaround. We print and laminate in-house, so there's no delay waiting for an external finishing step.

Same-day print and laminate service is available on most standard document and poster sizes when submitted before noon.

Frequently asked questions

How wide can you laminate?

We laminate up to 36 inches wide at any length — significantly wider than standard office laminators, which max out at 13". This covers standard posters, blueprints, maps, and large format prints. If your document is wider than 36", contact us to discuss options.

Can you laminate blueprints and architectural drawings?

Yes — blueprint and large format drawing lamination is one of our most common services. Laminated blueprints are more durable for office review and client presentations, though for active construction site use we typically recommend printing on waterproof polypropylene media instead, as it holds up better to field conditions. We can advise on the best option for your specific use.

Can I bring in prints from another shop for lamination?

Yes. We laminate prints from any source — bring your documents, posters, maps, or blueprints and we'll laminate them for you. No minimum order. We do recommend that prints are fully dry and not freshly printed from inkjet printers, as fresh inkjet ink can occasionally react with lamination film.

Q: What lamination finishes do you offer?

We offer gloss finish lamination through both our heat and cold lamination services. Both produce a clear, high-shine protective surface — the difference is in the application method and which materials each is suited for. Heat lamination is our standard service for most documents and prints. Cold lamination is used for heat-sensitive materials or when a self-adhesive backing is needed.

Is same-day lamination available?

Yes for most standard sizes. Lamination orders placed before noon are typically ready the same afternoon. For large quantities or oversized documents, call ahead to confirm same-day capacity — 604-431-9297.

Do you laminate menus?

Yes — restaurant menu lamination is a core service. We laminate menus in standard and custom sizes, single and double-sided. Gloss and matte finishes available. If your menus also need to be designed or printed, we can handle the full job — design, print, and lamination in one order from our Metrotown shop.
